• A lens with a smaller diameter and shorter focal length than a spherical lens.
• It can be used as an illumination lens for compact laser optics and microoptics such as endoscopes.
• There are plano-convex lens type with small spherical aberration and biconvex lens type with short focal length and large divergence angle.
• Since the top (side) is shaved, the lens can be grasped and fixed relatively easily.
• * Since a microlens is a single lens, the focal length varies depending on the wavelength.
• * The plano-convex microlens has an orientation to the incident light.
• * Be sure to allow parallel light to enter from the convex side.
• * Doing the reverse operation will cause spherical aberration to deteriorate, which may cause the focus spot to become larger.
• * Since the lens does not have an anti-reflection coating, the transmittance is about 90% due to the loss caused by reflection on the front and back surfaces of the lens.
