• By attaching a slight wedge to the front and back sides of the board, the reflected beam by the front and back sides can be separated.
• It can be used as a reference source for beam samplers and interferometers.
• It can also be used as a prism that refracts at a small angle.
• The beam declination angle δ can be determined from the refractive index n and the wedge angle α.
• δ = sin−1 (n sinα) − α ≒ (n −1) α
• 0.52 times the wedge angle for BK7 and 0.46 times for synthetic quartz.
• (Visible, normal incidence) • Synthetic quartz types that can be used in a wide wavelength range from ultraviolet to infrared, and synthetic quartz types for Kr* F excimer lasers (248 nm) are available.
• The wedge board is marked with a surface arrow at the thickest point.
• We also have a beam sampler (BS4) with an anti-reflection coating on the back. *Both sides of the wedge board are not coated.
• * The surface of the glass reflects 3.5% to 4%.
• * When a wedge substrate is inserted into the optical path of the laser beam, the transmitted beam is refracted and slightly inclined.
