It is a combination of a modified Salmonella Shigella agar medium suitable for the isolation and cultivation of Salmonella and Shigella from fecal specimens and a combination of a CT-sorbitol-supplemented McConkey II agar medium suitable for the isolation and cultivation of pathogenic Escherichia coli O157.
